CHAIRMAN SALARIES AND WAGES COMMISSION DECRIES REJECTION OF CORPS MEMBERS
The Chairman, National National Salaries Income and Wages Commission, Ekpo Nta has decried the rate of Corps rejection by some employers in the country.
He said every Corps Member must be given enabling environment in their place of primary assignments to contribute their quota to the socio-economic development of the country.
He stated this today when the NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Muhammad Kaku Fadah paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Abuja.
Ekpo Nta added that the greatest disservice to any Corps Member is rejection.
He however appealed to State Governments to provide conducive Orientation Camps with modern facilities to train Corps Members who are deployed to their States in vocational skills that would make them employers of labour.
“Going towards 2026 budget, all MDAs should be required to state in their budget, what they are going to provide for NYSC so that it is statutory and the country can plan with that”, the Chairman advised.
He also condemned the under-utilization of Corps Members, adding that all employers of labour should adhere strictly to the posting policy of NYSC, which covers education, health, agriculture and rural infrastructure.
The Chairman also described NYSC as one of the institutions that have continuously helped in uniting the nation through the deployment of Corps Members to the nooks and crannies of the country.
In his remarks, the Director General of National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Muhammad Kaku Fadah thanked the Salaries and Wages Commission Chairman and his team for assisting the Scheme especially in terms of the upward review of Corps Members’ monthly allowances.
He added that there is the need for every stakeholder to nurture the youths very well and prepare them for higher responsibilities as good leaders.
He also promised a stronger collaboration between NYSC and the commission.
“The NYSC is a bridge between the youths and the larger society. We thank you most sincerely for what you have done”, General Fadah said.
The Director General added that the NYSC Trust Fund bill has passed though the National Assembly but awaiting Presidential assent. He said when approved, the fund would make business grants available to deserving Corps Members to start their vocational business in line with the skills they acquired during service.

When you go for NYSC Camp, or Secretariat for whatever especially for relocation, registration or what have it.
You need to be patient, expect on default that they will be nasty. If not more than that, and it is okay some of them, it might be there nature other are just frustrated by answering the same questions or something else.

So look around, observe the mood, infact ask your colleagues your questions before asking the NYSC official answering you. Infact that is the reason for @nyscgroup
Expectation
And what if it happens, many comes from family’s with love and school’s less populated where authority pay good attention. But sometimes reality out there is harsh, not to justify such. And we are much in Nigeria and as that is not an excuses, those nice teacher will rarely be found again in life. Except someone have something to gain.

Back to the question if it happen just dust it off the bad one is now to be exchanging word or saying who your daddy is. Some might have been used to this already and just laugh it off, note it doesn’t stick and many people with you there are stranger.
They are human too, and not expected to treat you like that but note they don’t have relationships with you yet and as that happens during the course of your service year. The relationship get better so, just bear it. After all NYSC is service and humility.

NSCDC Commends Volunteer Who Returned Over N20 Million Forgotten in Tricycle.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has praised one of its volunteers in Kano, Mr. Nura Abdullahi, for returning more than N20 million forgotten by a co-passenger in a commercial tricycle, describing his action as “a rare display of honesty, integrity and professionalism.”
ACG Amos Abiodun-Taiwo, NSCDC Commander of Zone 12, made the commendation on Friday in Kano while presenting a letter of recognition to Abdullahi.
According to the commander, Abdullahi discovered the money after a co-passenger, identified as Alhaji Mustafa from Katsina State, mistakenly left the bag behind while alighting. He explained that Abdullahi used the last dialed number on Mustafa’s phone—after lending him the device earlier—to trace and contact the rightful owner.
Abiodun-Taiwo noted that it is highly unusual to find someone willing to return such a large sum, especially amid the current economic hardships.
He further emphasized that Abdullahi is not even a regular NSCDC staff member but a volunteer who reportedly did not have up to N20,000 in his own account, yet chose to act with integrity.
He said the command verified the incident and subsequently briefed the Commandant-General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, who directed that Abdullahi be celebrated as a model of honesty within the corps.
“This young man is a good ambassador of his family, the NSCDC, and Nigeria at large. If this were something negative, social media would have been awash with it. Positive deeds like this deserve equal publicity,” Abiodun-Taiwo stated.
He urged the public to emulate Abdullahi’s sincerity, stressing that moral values remain important regardless of economic challenges. “It pays to be honest. If he had taken the money, he wouldn’t enjoy peace today. Parents should train their children well, and young people should uphold such values,” he added.
The commander also assured that Abdullahi would be “handsomely rewarded” for his exemplary conduct.
